Started getting the BSOD on a Windows 7 Ultimate desktop several days ago.. Computer was semi-rebuilt by MicroCenter just prior to Thanksgiving (after sitting on their bench for 1.5 months waiting for Gigabyte to return the motherboard.. Was originally built in July '09 by MicroCenter.

The motherboard had to be sent back to Gigabyte for repair (3 year warranty)and both the Video Card & power supply were replaced (computer is on a commercial APC SmartUPS 1400 at all times).

They did not re-install the operating system, and when first booted, the computer was as it was before it crashed in September.. So just finished updating all the various software programs that now showed updates available.. Checked for new drivers and system didn't indicate any needed (did originally have problems with the original Nvidia video card, but upgraded to a newer more powerful card as I also got a new 23" monitor).

Since I have no idea of what is causing the problem or how to fix, I'm posting both a BlueScreenView and a HijackThis log, hoping you'll be able to figure out what the problem is and how I can fix it..

Thanks.

I see that you have posted this on at least 4 other websites which is why you might not be receiving help. It's very difficult to help someone when you have the proverbial "too many cooks in the kitchen". Additionally, not everyone here knows everything about all aspects of computing, so it might be a while until someone that can help logs on.

I see from one of your other threads that this all began after you upgraded uTorrent.

Was running 2.1, Build 19702 with no problems on the computer.. Received notice from a forum that my client was outdated & now blocked and I needed to upgrade..

First, tried the newest 3.0, Build 23983 and had BSOD before I could even finish adding the new torrent.

Backed up to 2.2.1 Build 23984, and BSOD within seconds of starting the client.

Backed up to 2.2 Build 23774, and again, BSOD within seconds.

Finally backed up to previous official release 2.04 Build 22967 and the client ran for a minute or 2 (thought it was working) and then again BSOD.

I also see that you were receiving help on that forum, but decided not to follow the persons advice that was attempting to help you. Have you followed his advice and removed the recommended software and updated your network card drivers? I would also recommend that you uninstall all versions of uTorrent, since that seemed to be the catalyst for the problem.

I used PC Tools 2010 (on three PCs with 2 with Windows XP and 1 with Vista)and had no problems at all. Then I was offered to UPGRADE to the 2011 version; what a disaster!!!!

I followed ALL of the prompts during the upgrade and rebooted as instructed. UNFORTUNATELY, the 2011 UPGRADE allowed over 6 Trojan viruses to attack my computer (even after additional Full Scans & Intelli Scans).

The 1st reboot allowed my Start Menu and Desktop to be compromised (disappeared). Then, I could only use the Windows Task Mgr. to access ANYTHING. Even the Restore feature was destroyed.

Finally, after the last Update (of 3 since the Upgrade), MY SYSTEM rebooted to a blue screen that read:
STOP FATAL ERROR. I now have to rebuild my pc from scratch!!!

PC Tools Tech Support acknowledged that there is a PROBLEM with 2011 Spyware w/ Antirus. Back to Norton's I go!!!
