This is going to take quite sometime I think

To save separate posts, or indeed making this one too long I will post as I read it, the autoruns log.
Please reply as and when you are ready with the same number allocated -
You may edit you post to add the replies as we go along.

1. A. True Crypt - what is encrypted please,
B. Is the system drive encrypted or only another drive or partition.
C.Were the lost files encrypted. If they were, I presume you have checked on the encrypted vol.
D.Do you have on the fly encryption enabled

So please reply 1 a to d.

2 A. You have DROPBOX installed are your missing documents - files backed up to dropbox by any chance, as I see you can save them to the Dropbox site https://www.dropbox.com/tour#!/tour/1

B You also have Box Sync

C. You also have Sugar Sync
and indeed in respect of sugar sync I read this

August 21, 2012

SugarSync Manager version 1.9.75 for Windows is available on our Downloads page.

In this update:

  • Fix for memory issues seen by some Windows customers on recent releases

ALL the above mentioned are running every time you boot and if they are set to sync and save to the box automatically, it is not surprising that it is slow.

My personal opinion at this stage is that you should extract from the BOX any storage on their website that you wish and UNINSTALL ANY that you do not need.

3. You have Windows Defender runing.
Go start type Windows Defender in search, right click click run as admin when it appears in the results box
OR Control Panel Windows Defender

TURN IT OFF
Click start, type Windows Defender in the box for Search Programs and Files. Click on Windows Defender. When Windows Defender opens, select Options. From the Options menu, select Administrator. In the box on the right, unclick 'Use this Program'. Save and Exit.
and reboot and TEST - IS there a noticeable improvement please

A) Only individual files are encrypted for business purposes
B) There is no drive fully encrypted only individual files
C) No most of the lost files were not encrypted but a few of them might have been
D) No I do not have on the fly encryption enabled

Thank you SO much for your assistance

I have followed your suggestions and disabled box sync , uninstalled sugar sync and turned off Windows defender. I have rebooted and will test the computer for a while. I still am missing those files. I am appreciative as I know you are working hard with me on all of this. Also gamma did his best.

Thanks

I will wait to hear from you.

As regards the files I think they may be lost

If a search on windows button and search box and then click see more results and then going to custom and selecting one at a time the possible locations AND using the modified search contents for the type date etc that is - click once on the title of the file or type to the right of that window that opens and you can then use date type etc. for whatever file you know the name of eg - just as an example Jerry67.docx still fails, then I really do see it as a lost cause

This may help

I am afraid the files are gone, the computer seems to be somewhat better but still as I use it , it seems to slow. I am upset about losing those files, do you have any idea what happened or what I might do to prevent it from happening again? I really appreciate the time you spend on my problem and I know you are busy as well. I have followed all of your suggestions to the best of my ability and will continue to do so.

As to a known fact - no I honestly do not know
As to an educated guess - it is connected with ALL the other problems you have had - the one I helped with previously, the ones in Malware, the printer, the previous one on the taskbar etc.

and I apologise, if you think I am out of order in saying so, but I am concerned about the number of topics I am seeing with problems on Windows 7 where the most cursory of examinations shows that unsuitable and unrequired software has been installed.
By coicidence I have just written this on the issue

http://www.geekstogo...-care-programs/

additionally and I am not saying that it applies in your case, the disabling of user account control can cause problems

"Certain applications, which make lots of system changes can fail to work once you turn on UAC after their installation and they will work if you install them with UAC turned on. The failures happen because, when UAC is turned off, the virtualization techniques used by UAC for all applications are inactive. This causes certain user settings and files to be installed to a different place and no longer work when UAC is turned back on. To avoid these problems, it is better to have UAC turned on at all times."

found this wonder if you have tried it,
http://www.sevenforu...mpty-fix-3.html

I also have an apology to make I think - I was convinced when I started with you on this topic that a full chkdsk /r and a system file check had been run, having just read three of your topics it appesr I may be wrong.
If I am I recommend you do so please.

I still appreciate what you are doing for me, if you see ANY programs and I mean ANY that you do not like the please tell me. I really want this thing working properly and you are not out of line at all, I am asking you for help and you are being kind enough to give it to me.

I ran that libraries fix you mentioned and it worked for the libraries but not for restoring the files so we got that much accomplished. I also read your article on registry cleaner and will never use one so I appreciate what you had to say there, when I finish this post I will run the chkdsk program you recommended
.

Please go control panel, admin tools event viewer, on left pane expand windows logs, and click application
When that log loads in main window click once on the heading of the column source
You now want the wininit results
Open those, starting with the mot recent until you find the chkdsk results from that disk check
Alternatively when that application log has loaded you may click find on the right hand pane and type chkdsk
Still please check that the one found is the one that you have just run.

Then with that open on the right pane click copy and then either paste to reply or paste to a word doc and then copy and paste to reply

The other was the system file check please.
cmd prompt with admin rights
type
sfc /scannow
If it finds violations run it again up to three times
