Hello. I recently started having problems with my Windows 7 64-bit machine and my Buffalo HD-PX320U2B external USB hard drive. When I try to perform any action that involves the USB drive, I immediately receive a BSOD. Attached is a file with the high level BlueScreenView data and four minidumps.

I have tried uninstalling and replacing my USB drivers, but that didn't help. This external hard drive worked about a month ago and works on my Win 7 64-bit laptop with absolutely no issues.

As always, any help would be appreciated.

Hello goobers

Couple of questions if I may;

Does the computer function without issue if the USB HDD is disconnected.

Do you have Avast installed.

Download then run Speccy and post the resultant url for us please, details here

@phillpower2:

The computer functions properly without issue when this particular USB HDD is disconnected. I have tried 3 different usb jump drives and 2 other external hard drives and they do not cause any BSODs. In fact, one of the other external hard drives is just the larger version of the USB HDD in question made by the same manufacturer. I also want to note that the USB HDD in question does work properly with my Windows 7 64-bit laptop and my Windows 7 64-bit HTPC.

I do have Avast installed. It is updated to the current version.

As requested here is a link to my Speccy: http://speccy.pirifo...Ru4Uqi6Cm8qCibi

You have two AV programs running Avast and MSE and that is a bad idea, you should not have more than 1 AV program running as it causes instability such as crashes + overall slowness as the programs fight for control of system resources, an Avast driver \??\C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\db1cd68a07eca66fb-a2d6bf6.dat may be causing the issue, please uninstall Avast and leave MSE protecting the computer and see if the issue is resolved.

If you have any problems uninstalling Avast please see here

Uninstalling Avast has seemed to solve the problem, though I am very confused as to why my laptop and HTPC don't suffer from BSOD with this USB HDD. Did my Avast installation on my problematic computer become corrupt causing my troubles?

Thanks for your assistance, phillpower2. I will post back here if the problems come up again.

Yes, the other computers are running both Avast and MSE.
