So just yesterday I got my first BSOD in a very long time. I downloaded BlueScreen View to view the minidump file and saw it was caused by these two files:
atikmdag.sys
ntoskrnl.exe
The first one I think is from AMD, I do have an AMD card (Radeon HD 7800 Series). I thought maybe it was just a fluke so I ignored it and said I would worry about it if it happened again. Well, today it occured for a second time. I don't have the first original minidump file because I accidently deleted, but the 2nd minidump file shows the same files as the cause of the crash. I'm not sure if the crash is caused by bad driver files from AMD or not, but I figured I would make a thread to be sure. I do have my graphic drivers up to date (as well as everything else like Windows updates, etc).
I didn't make any changes hardware-wise as of late. I did update Adobe Flash the other day (which seems to be crashing once a day).
Specs:
Win 7 64bit, AMD FX-4170, 8GB Memory, AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series, Samsung SSD 840 Pro
I tried to attach the minidump file but got an error saying I am not permitted to upload that kind of file. Info from BlueScreen View:
