Hi. I have the HP deskjet 2540 and compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 Version 32.2.
Will this printer work on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit or Windows 10? Do I have to install printer drivers?
Answers are greatly appreciated because I have to purchase a new desktop or laptop. My old HP laptop crashed because of the low CPU and poor motherboard.

Thanks!

:welcome: Reel102.

Version 32.2 supports all Windows, including 8.1, both 32/64bit.   So if you are upgrading to 7 Pro, you can use your existing installation disc.   If you are upgrading to W10, you may need to download and install the supporting full version pack, if the W10 installer does not find it automatically.

read from, Windows in-Operating System (in-OS) driver, (Note the instruction "If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer."
