I have a Dynamode USB 2.0 HDD External Box Serial ATA.

My young cat was playing and knocked out the loose power cable while i was using it.

It stoppped working.

I have a burnt out smell. The blue light comes on but its not showing up at all on my laptop, and there is no motor noise starting up.

I have all my pics on here. Is there hope please? What can i do?

Thank you.

Hello catmitt,

Dynamode USB 2.0 HDD External Box Serial ATA.

This is only an external hard drive enclosure is it not, if yes, you will hopefully be able to recover the data on the HDD by removing it and either using another enclosure or SATA adapter or by fitting it into another computer in the case of a 3.5" desktop HDD.

Can you post a link to the actual device that you have so we can see how the HDD is removed.

Hi sorry for the delay. I took it to a shop where i was told it was dead. No help there then.

My sons mate took it apart. It was the curcuit board that was burnt out. We took a chance and ordered another one 2nd hand from Ebay.

He replaced the circuit board and it works like new !!

I have backed up all pics now.

Thank you for getting back to me.

:D  :D  :D
