Hi everyone,

I have a document in which I need to number the footnotes in tables in one sequence (a, b, c, etc.) and the footnotes in the body matter in a different sequence (1, 2, 3, etc.).

Can anyone please advise how this can be done? No matter what I do, any changes change all footnotes, not just those in tables or body matter.

Thanks a mill,

V

Hi Vanessa

To change the numbering you need to change sections in the document. Then you can decide if the numbers are in the same format and from what number to to start

at. This link on how to change section

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. I skim-read the info on the link you gave and it seems like that might be the answer I was looking for, thank you! I completed that particular project some time ago and am not sure how they did that in the end, but it's good to know this for future reference.

That's okay - it was bothering me that I hadn't been able to find out how to do it, and it's something I will likely need to know again for a future project, so still helpful :)
