After downloading and installing about 100 updates on my HP ElitePad 900 G1 a couple of days ago, the unit now shuts down about 30 seconds after starting up. I contacted HP support but they were not able to help and suggested I take it to an authorized HP Service Center to have the BIOS reset. The unit is out of warranty and the reset will cost a minimum of $100.
I connected an external keyboard to the unit via the USB dongle, restarted it and continually pressed F10 in the hopes to access the BIOS, but the unit shuts down before it recognizes the keyboard.
I'm hoping someone here can give me some other suggestions to get to the BIOS because I do not want to spend $100 on it.
Thanks!

if the bios is corrupt/broken then there really is not a lot you can do because it is the bios that first boots up and gets the hardware to work and without it then no hardware like keyboards will be seen and able to be used.

only real fix is to install a good bios chip to replace the broken one or to reprogram the old bios chip using professional eeprom programming equipment that the average person or work place won't have.
