Hi,

A quick update, I used outlook.office365.com and I now email on my phone.

I can send and receive - it even recognises my contacts.

The only thing I don't have on the phone is all of the emails semt and received previously.

Good. If you logon on the e-mail account using the web browser on the PC do you see  all the messages there?

If the messages on the account are old probably they will not show by default, usually the devices have a small storage so eventually the default settings only show more recent e-mails.

I don't have a device with an account setup like that so I can only guess that you may need to change some setting or force a synchronization to download more mail headers.

By the way you are welcome.

Hi,

Yes, I think you're right. When I looked in the settings, it synchronised for the currentbday only, so I switched it to all.

I hope at some stage all of the old stuff will be avaible on the phone.

Thanks again for your help, it's been invaluable (saved me a lot of stress too).

Hi Sleepy,

I hope you don't mind me replying on this thread again, but it appears I haven't quite solved the problem yet.

When we last spoke, I had successfully sent and received emails on my phone.

At the time, the sync function was set up for the current day only, so I didn't expect a lot to appear on the phone.

I wanted all of my emails on the phone, so I changed the sync setting to 'all' (under settings/general/accounts & sync/Microsoft Exchange/Email settings).

Now, when I open up emails, I get and updating message, which then ends with 'No emails, Network temporarily unavailable try again', so I haven't yet synced the phone successfully. Also, I tried sending an email the other day and it didn't make it into the sent tray, it just stayed pending.

Could you help me out again please?

Thanks

RSP

Hi,

Do you have many e-mails on the account?

I only have experience with Google that we use at my work, they have limits (I think all have) on the download of e-mails so if the user download a lot they will block the  account for some hours.

There must be a couple of hundred emails on the account, but not thousands.

I cut the sync period down to 1 week's worth of emails, but that had no effect, so I don't think it's connected to the quantity of emails.

Hi,

Maybe you have to give-up from Exchange and see if you can make IMAP work... I have found on the forum several cases where people using Outlook with the account setup for Office 365 using Exchange stops working and only changing to IMAP resolves the problem.

Some ideas:

- try with another e-mail client if possible

- contact Office 365 support if you can
