btw who here actually likes to reformat their pc?

It depends, actually. I definitely do NOT enjoy having to wipe out my entire system, then having to re-download every single itty-bitty program that I used to have on my PC all over again. But sometimes the machine is just so screwed, even all the anti-malware software in the world can't save it. It is then that I really appreciate that 'last ditch' option - reformatting. After all, let's face it. There's nothing like reformatting your computer to transfer it back to its original clean, junk-free, high-speed state. :tazz:

I only reformatted this computer once.
Six months ago when I just got it.

I just had to divide those 80 GB in partitions before installing anything else

And it came with a 6 month free AV that I didn't like very much. :tazz:

Hello all,

I reformat every other month, just to keep myself happy. It works good for me, just pick a day and do it... but then again I have 4 external hard drives filled with music and games... that when needed can be pushed back over to my internal 200 gig drive that I only use about 10 gigs of space on all the time...

LoL I am a nut without a place to fall what can I say.

Peace out all,

Snickets out.

last time I reformatted my XP install was a couple of months ago, thanks to a bad Critical update from Windows.

just reformatted my Linux install this past weekend, it was the only thing that didnt' work after I installed the new mobo on friday.

Other wise, I rarely if ever reformat. last time before the critical update was a total of 3 years, 8 months ago.

did you install the service packs?? also how many of those things do you have set up to start at bootup??

the more things you have running at bootup can drastically slow your machine down.
