Dont nother looking for different models, with that much money to spend you are getting a creative sounblaster x-fi as good as you can manage, computer geeks will kill for one of these with a good sound system, it has more processing power than alot of cpus.(never mind geeks i would kill for one, does that make me a geek?)
Cooling you want two 120mm fans one in one out, i think it has them but i cant get the website up and thermaltake isnt big here so its not in shops.

Alright I found these four sound cards from the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi series brand you reccomended:

http://www.provantag...ps-shopping.htm
http://www.provantag...um-shopping.htm
http://www.provantag...ic-shopping.htm
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16829102191

I think the first one, on that list is designed for my exact motherboard, since it has the fatal1ty name on it... but im not sure?

As for the fans, you said I need two 120mm = 1 in and 1 out.... correct
Thermaltake's site is down.. but here is what case i ordered and where i have it on order at: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811133155
It comes with 2 90mm fans and 2 120mm fans.... but i dont like the 120mm fans, that come with it, so im getting two 120mm Blue LED fans from here:
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811999122

please check those sound cards and let me know which is best of the four, for my machine.

thanks :tazz:

If you are getting new fans then i would look for the quietest ones you can trust me lights are nice for a while but a quiet PC is so much more satisfying in the long run.

The fatality one is great 64megs of xram and a processor that puts most p4s to shame.

For good speakers look into the logitech Z 5500 with 505 watts if you want more bass. Only $267 at newegg.com right now. They really own. They say 5.1 though

The Klipsch promedia ultra is 5.1 with 470 watts. $299

And finally the Creative Gigaworks s750 with 700 watts in 7.1 $437

The creative is 7.1 but the satellite speakers will start making crackel sounds in less than 6 months and the amplifier on the creative does have some issues...

The Logitech z5500 are the best overall. Dang good price also. They are high quality speakers and the sub is amazing.

I believe we are nearing the end.... hopefully....

This Sound card is what we are going for, will put on order thrusday night:
http://www.provantag...ps-shopping.htm

Im gonna go for the pretty lights on the fans for now :tazz: but if they get annoying cant i just get different ones later... they only run around 20-25 dollars . . . not very expensive.

We are at the Video card... at last.... right? I am a novice on this... but everything says Nvidia is the best... is this accurate....I have encounterd problems with Nvidia and one of my favorite games (empire earth) in the past... so I am leary of NVidia. Please enlighten me.

Thanks for the reply JRM, I am going to stay with my current Altec Lansing surround and sub right now.... if I dont spend the rest of my money on the video card then I may upgrade to what you suggested, or my get a better monitor... not sure on that right now.

Umm, you will have zero problems with the 7800 gtx if you want to buy a card now. The reason you probably had problems is because it was a cheap nvidia or the old model. Maybe you had one of the first fx cards ya they were not that good, it doesnt bother me because I dont get cheap cards. The 6800 gt, 6800 ultra, 7800 gt, and 7800 gtx are all really great cards with no problems at all.

If you want the very top of the line 7800 series then look into the evga 7800 gtx KO version they call it. It has the fastest core clock frequency and the fastest memory clock frequency anyone has to offer. It comes overclocked already from the manufacturer and its faster than the bfg even..

this is the one

i know my hardware, i am a hardware guru

Ati had its crappy cards also

both have had there ups and downs..

here is the card at evga.com

ATI are about to release a faster card, and it will trigger a price war on either card you choose. Unfortunately the r580core cards wont be out till christmas time and those look to be the car of the year. A 7800GTX is a good card either way but they are coming up on the new releases, a little bit and you should be able to pick up a card at a small discount.

Yeay there were some truly awful ATI cards back in the day, as there were some terrible nvidia cards most of the problems on both sides are resolved at the moment i would say there is a slight quality advantage in hardware and drivers on the ATI side but that is only because they have thrown more money than nvidia into development and some bonified super geniouses at making there current and new cards.

Found these cards on the brands you guys reccomended : is this the best out right now...

http://www.pricegrab...sterid=10621249

And the Other Card I found is: or is this the best out right now...

http://www.amazon.co...8503265-9788767

I also noticed that these cards use the PCI Express slot.... is it better to use that, rather than the AGP slot.

And wich of the two is better for my system? The ATI card will match my motherboard better since it is RED :tazz:

Yeah, if you dont want to wait till the end of the year then buy a 7800 gtx now.

You can always get another later of the same exact model for sli. Then you can have 2 7800 gtx's

You will have to make shure it will work.

7800 gtx ko has better performance and is faster overall in games than the x850 xt platinum.

As of right now 7800 gtx ko by evga is the fastest. Its all up to you if you want to wait for the new ati.

Yeah the 7800GTX is faster than the x850xt, although its not by a really huge amount. The new r520 based chips will be out soon its christmas for the r580s the r520 based chips are faster than a 7800 but they arent in as big numbers and they arent a r580. You could get a 7800 and then sell it later if you want to switch to a r580 core card next year.
