That means you were very thorough when you cleaned them out.

I'm not sure if this dll is language dependend, but I don't think so

Download the zip from here:
http://www.dll-files...es.shtml?msjava
and extract it to your
C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder

Then register it using the command:
regsvr32 msjava.dll

It may require a reboot for the changes to take effect.

There was some wackiness after I registered that and rebooted (the url and page title would stay the same as at the home page despite the pages changing), but after closing IE and running it again, it all seems to work as it should again. Thanks a lot for your expert help! This was quite an adventure...

There's just one curiosity left - I periodically can't access geekstogo. It usually works when I check later in a few minutes, but it's still very odd. I suppose it could some busted router on the way, but it seems odd to be accessible on and off like that. I know the site's working when that happens because I tried accessing it with some anonymizers and it loaded just fine...

You can try clearing your DNS cache and see if that helps.

To do this simply enter:
ipconfig /flushdns
in a command prompt. You will then get the following response if it was succesful:
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache

One small issue's come up... my Logitech iTouch thingy where I can assign functions to the top keyboard buttons doesn't work for IE any more. Where I have a key for Google and another site (they would open in IE), the buttons don't do anything any more. I tried resetting everything in iTouch, but it didn't help. Buttons for everything else still work just fine. Any ideas?

Only if the above is true for all the internet sites you had preset.

In that case it could mean that IE is not set as your default browser.

To check: rightclick the Taskbar >select Properties > Startmenu > Costumize> and for Internet Internet Explorer should be selected.

Oh... indeed it's not. I've switched to Firefox for my primary browser and use IE as my secondary now. Doh. This only works with IE as the primary then?

I am not sure if this only can work with IE. I'd have to know more about the way those keyboards are programmed.

I do use Opera mostly, but still have IE set as the default browser.

There are pro's and cons to both methods. But I see no objection to opening those sites (which I assume you trust) in IE.

No, just opening those sites in IE is not an issue really... however setting it up as a default browser also means all html and url files will be opened in IE which is not my preferred option... that's what's bugging me.

Maybe if you ask about reconfiguring the keyboard in the Hardware section of the board, someone will be able to help you.
Lots of smart people over there. :tazz:
