First off, I don't support any kind of cheating, especially the "apprea" variety.

Anyways, the last things you should be worried about are a keyboard and mouse. Later on, you can upgrade to the luxury of a nice keyboard and mouse, but for now I'd use old ones that you have or buy the cheapest ones you can find. I would put all of your remaining budget toward a graphics card. You can get an 8800GT 512mb for about $260, so I'd recommend saving just a bit more and getting that.

And I'm not quite sure how you plan on installing XP from a sticker...

Okay, I can afford the 260 dollars. Do you have a link to that video card?

Here is one that is $260, but is out of stock. However, this one is $270, but in stock (as I write this) and from a better brand (due to the lifetime warranty and Step-Up program).

Depends how long you want to wait, right now it's looking like march, it could be even later.....
If you wanted to save some money you could get cheaper RAM that would give the same performance.

Well, its a great build Kaiser, but I think brand name is playing a factor in your build. Look for same products for less that arent neccessarily brand name.... for instance, GSkill makes excellent memory for significantly less money, AMD makes X2 CPUS for significantly less money, and ya dont need a black aluminum power supply with headers do ya? LOL

I personally prefer the AMD CPU's over the Intels. Ya just get more bang for your buck.

Thats my honest review, Hey If ya got money to blow ... more power to ya, but I wouldnt go out that far on it, its gonna be yesterdays technology in 18 months.

Somone told me that. Could you try to help me find cheaper memory and an AMD quad core. and a cheaper power supply and the non name brand things?

You were told by an AMD fanboy. AMD cannot compete with the Core 2 lineup. That's why Intel is pushing back the Penryns, because of no competition. The E6750 is probably the best bang-for-buck CPU there is, especially when overclocked. Also, Crucial makes some of the best memory there is, and if you are ordering from newegg (which I think you are), there is a mail-in rebate that brings the memory to about $40.

Well, is there any way to make it cheaper without sacrificing performance? I edited the post and now I'm right around budget. What is all of your opionions about waiting for the new intel chip thats coming out in february-march? I can wait that long. What is the chip for a processor right?

I think that's part of the problem, but I think Intel needs to revise their stepping as well.

but I wouldnt go out that far on it, its gonna be yesterdays technology in 18 months.

Anything is yesterdays technology in weeks, never mind months.

Is it me, or are you missing a graphics card in that build?

There will not be a significant performance difference between Intel's new processors and the current ones (~6% difference). Basically they are going to run cooler and consume less power.

AMD has a number of problems right now and I hope there can get out of the deep grave they have dug themselves into.

Yup, I see it now.
Looks good to me. My only suggestion is to get a Seagate drive as their warranty is 2 years longer then WD's.

I was thinking, mabey I would get 2 250 GB harddrives and then set it up to run dual boot, XP professional, and vista ultimate. What do you all think? Also, I might get 2 Acer 22" LCD screens and run it in dual screen. What do you think about those 2 thoughs?

I have a dual screen set up and love it, I'd never think of doing otherwise now.
Get the larger hard drive and place two partitions on it to dual boot, that's my recommendation.
