Should i export my bookmarks first if i plan on keeping those?
Export as html that is. The plugins and add-ons i can reinstall?
all i use is adblock and quickrestart add-ons.

you can use mozbackup to backup your profile, but i wouldnt just to see if it was the profile causing the issue. go ahead and export the favorites as html though

Okay well it wasn't the profile i have re-installed and also tried to create
a new profile to test on and that didn't work either. I will continue to use
default profile until a solution is found.

Edit* suspicious about this as i cannot find this file on my computer 3.6.4 firefox installer, weird. (i have only scanned this registry cleaner never actually cleaned it seeing as though it confuses me)

Hello there diabillic :)
I have run firefox in safe mode allowing it to disable everything
and it still reads looking up on most major websites

Hm, actually i just tried that once more and it seems more responsive
and not as slow going through the looking up connecting waiting for cycles which makes me think even more so its a browser issue. I don't understand how uninstalling it and reinstalling didn't fix it haha now it's really bothersome :)

.. also starting to think i might have errors in windows seeing as though ccleaner registry cleaner is picking up ALOT of stuff. Could be a reason? Still have never cleaned it don't know much about backing up the registry etc.

its most definitely an issue with firefox.

when you say most major websites, it doesnt do it on every site you visit?

I'm browsing random websites right now and it does do it on them all.
For most of them it will only do it the first time and not again until
i clear my history cache etc etc. I do that multiple times frequently
though so i have to go through 'looking up...' quite a bit.

very weird.

try assigning manual DNS addresses to your machine using googles public dns

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

if that doesnt work, i think at this point you are probably better off just dealing with it or using a different browser. im not sure of what else can be done.

to just give up and switch browsers :)

hmm.

perhaps theres something else 3rd party interfering with firefox. let do this

start -> run -> services.msc

startup tab, hide all microsoft processes and uncheck everything. reboot and try again.

I have no startup tab, can take screen snip if needed.
I ran it and in the list pane on the left it simply says
Services (local) and is highlighted.
