Yeah, it's a Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router WRT54G v8.2.

This system is running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and I was having trouble with the wireless adapter I was using on my Vista machine, so I installed the 'Advisor' software that came with the router to see if that would fix anything. Hmm insteresting. Did you get a installation or driver disk with the cisco then?

Download Autoruns from the link in my signature below:

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.
2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".
3: Click on the "Everything" tab
4: Remove any entries that mention "File Not Found" by right-clicking the entry and select Delete.
5: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.
6: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop.

The Cisco wireless adapter did come with a setup CD that I used, had no problems installing and was instantly connected after it installed all of the drivers and setup the necessary files.

OK I see a reference to the linksys in your autoruns. This could be the cause of the several errors in your event viewer
Lets check the msconfig startups and verify it is there. .
Lets see what you have in your startup

Please click on
Start and then to Run
Type in msconfig and press Enter
Now click on Startups
Then uncheck the line that references the linksys and restart.
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.
If system boots correctly and is running smoothly and faster then we have a startup problem
Try going back into msconfig and check one item and reboot
Keep doing that till you have found the problem or all are finally checked.
Post back with the results

When Windows Desktop appears, you will have a "nag screen" stating that your operating system is running in Diagnostic Mode, etc. etc. We know that since you used MSCONFIG to disable several of your Startups.
You can place a checkmark/tick into the little box at the left of the "nag screen" which says: "Never show this to me again." Then press OK.

There was a reference to a linksys monitor program as well as a cisco program that I had no use for. I disable those two along with everything else I didn't need to run on startup but didn't really notice a difference in performance.

I haven't had any BSOD today though nor a chkdsk run on start (though I'm not sure if the command you had me enter in the cmd prompt has anything to do with that.)

Well lets see if the startup fix did the trick. I will monitor for your results again.

I did some more searching on my PSU noise and read a few posts saying disabling CE1 solved the problem. I disabled CE1 and all other energy saving options I didn't need within the bios and ran a chkdsk, the PSU was silent.

Hopefully that's what was causing the noise. I ran a simple chkdsk just to hear if it would bring the noise back but the 'fsutil dirty query' command shows my drive is no longer dirty. Firefox did crash randomly twice on me (just a minute or two ago actually) so I'm thinking it might be a good idea to simply reformat and start over as there's not that much stuff on this HDD yet.

Assuming all of my problems are software related of course.

Yep if they are all software caused then formatting and starting over should erase all the issues.
I myself run no energy saver options. I set a screensaver and after 15 minutes it starts. My system runs 24\7 and has since February with no sound or noise issues.
