Okay. This wasn't something that you were seeing before when you didn't connect it directly to the modem or router was it?It shows as if i am connected in the bottom right of the screen, the 2 small 'screens' are lit up with a small blue icon in the bottom right.
There isn't another browser on this computer is there?When i click on IE though it says it is not responding

No other browsers, just IE, i have conformed this with the laptop ownerThere isn't another browser on this computer is there?

NEXT:
Open notepad by going to START > RUN and type notepad.exe in the box that appears. In Notepad click on the "File" menu > Save As... Under "File name" type fix.bat and Change "Save as type" to All Files, save it to a place you will remember.
Double click on fix.bat

For right now all we need to do is have internet access on the infected computer. We will worry about the wireless issue later on.Connection is restored through Ethernet but it took a while, no wireless connection...........same as before.........picking up the router but wont connect
Can you grab the MBAM log using these instructions?
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Open Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
- Select the Logs tab
- Click on the latest log. The bottom most log is the latest
- Click Open
- Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply.
Do you remember if the scan found anything?
