Go Start
Computer
right click - that is NOT open it, just right click the entry Computer
click properties
then in the left pane of the window that opens click Device manager
When that opens click to expand Disk Drives
Post the details of what is shown in relation to your C drive. - the main hard drive on the computer.

While in Device manager check you have no red or yellow warnings against drivers.

I asked against DRIVERS - all entries.

No warnings on any disk drives.

It would be very unusual for there to be a warning against an actual hard drive.

That drive ST3500630AS is a Seagate

Barracuda 7200.10 SATA 3.0Gb/s 500-GB Hard Drive

Use this it is Seagates Disc Wizard, the manual is available for download on the right hand column of the page and the Disc Wizard on the left hand column.
It is easy to use and has many facilities.

Since I have no idea what I am looking for, it was my mistake. Either way, there are no little red or yellow warning signs next to anything listed.
Thanks, again!

If after the recovery, one of your devices did NOT have a driver installed, or it was the wrong driver etc then there would be a red or yellow warning by the entry for the group of devices and then when you expanded it for that particular device.

It was just an extra check while you were in device manager.

If you decide to use the Disc Wizard and you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

I have enjoyed working with you and Good Luck with it.
