Yes I have tried disabling add-ons and booted into Firefox Safe Mode. I believe we've even tried reinstalling FF and Chrome.

But yup, I'm curious about the Windows Safemode with Networking. Perhaps this will tell us something.. .I report back once I do this. Thanks!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

It's pretty late over here, and I'm about to head to bed so there will probably be a bit of a delay to my next post after you report your findings

Olrik

Ok in Firefox Safe Mode and in Windows Safe Mode with Networking...

Let's try again...

Odd... so in Firefox Safe Mode and Windows Safe Mode with Networking...

Attaching consecutive files works!

Ok... I spoke too soon...

As soon as I hit Add Reply... FF in Safe Mode timed out... lost connection...

BUT I noticed something...

So with FF in Safe Mode I am able to upload attachments all I want... but as soon as I submit them... or they get "sent"? I lose connection...

However, outside of safe mode... after I "attach" one file... and have not "sent" the reply... already FF loses connection...

Now to test Chrome?

... wow I just tested Chrome...

I attached two consecutive images... then bam Chrome loses connection...

At least in FF it actually gives me some time to send ...

I dont know if Chrome has a safe mode... but already ... this is frustrating...

Windows Safe Mode did not help :(

Hello Daniel,

I am horribly sorry that I have not responded any time sooner than I have. The bachelors course in computer science have kept me rather.. occupied. That and the week of mandatory introduction camp.

I am trying to catch up with all the open topics I have and hope to come back to you shortly.

Again, I am very sorry.

Regards,
Olrik

Hey Daniel,

I'm re-reading this topic so many times. There have been so many attempts to fix this that I'm staring myself blind on it!

There has to be something causing this. I'm going to sum something up here, and correct me if I am wrong.

  • The connection drops appear to be 'random'
  • Connection drops occur in multiple browsers
  • When running a constant ping, the ping does not time out when the browser does.
  • The problems also occur in safe-mode

Just to check. Have we tried removing your network drivers and re-installing those?

Regards,
Olrik

Hello Artellos,

Just returned from a business conference. And now Im in Safe Mode on my home computer because I got hit with the stupid "MoneyPack" "FBI" "Ransomeware" virus.

Im running MBAM and Ive also messaged Godawgs since he's helping me with this Home Computer.

As for this thread, for my work computer, you are correct on your four points.

And we have not tried removing my network drivers and reinstalling! A great idea. How should I proceed? Thanks!
