Hey Daniel,

Thanks for the log! I still see that some registry keys are used at the moment the user account is being closed (at shutdown), But I am not 100% sure if this is the culprit.

I can't really find any information specific to this. Could you please explain exactly step by step what you do that causes the problem?

We can still try a few things, I just don't want to make you go through extensive searching if it's not worth looking in that direction, if you know what I mean :)

Regards,
Olrik

Ok. I'm on my work computer.

So I was replying to a redmine ticket writing a LONG response... then I clicked Browse to choose a file to attach... chose a file... and continued typing... the format of what I was doing is kind of like what I am doing right now... typing away a response, and if we look below... we see Attachments... and Browse... well...

It turns out that if I merely Browse for a file, choose it, then proceed to typing... when I press Add Reply... Submit... Send... whatever... I'm up for a HUGE disappointment because Firefox would return a "session timeout" and I have to restart my browser in order to regain internets after LOSING MY ENTIRE RESPONSE.

These symptoms are not consistent across browsers and they seem to go away momentarily until it surprise attacks me again.

Another thing is... this also happens when I merely use DownloadHelper to rip a video from say... Youtube... I merely press it (in FF) and "save the file" but the download has not begun and FF would return a timeout.

This problem happens mainly in FF, and FF is my main browser.

Symptoms like these happen rarely in Chrome, but they have happened... I dont' use Safari or IE.

Side note: What also happens in Chrome is upon initial startup, that means when I open the browser, I should have it load Google.com as the home page HOWEVER it does not load... it hangs... it hangs until I press the Home button ... this happens at work and at home.

More notes: FF and Chrome are up to date.

Just confirmed that my previously described process occurs when FF is in safe-mode as well.

I am dreading to format and reinstall Windows... Artellos please help.

Also what used to be a problem... attaching files to Gmail then having FF time out... this problem does not occur but instead happens like how I described above.

Hey Daniel,

You can't catch a break, can you?

Try to keep a constant ping running while you try to download a video.

To start the constant ping, Open start and type "cmd" and hit enter.
In the command line, type; "ping -t 8.8.8.8"
You will start seeing replies coming in, and they will keep coming in.

Then open up FF and download a video of some sorts. Do something that makes it hang.
When it hangs, look at the command line, and see if you are still getting replies, or if the replies stopped and you are getting timeouts.

Please let me know how that goes so we can move forwards :)

"Ping is constant as of now.
Proceeding to attach document and download video."

That was the message I was writing before Failure.

I proceeded to attach an image and proceeded to download a Youtube video.

Browser hung up.

Command line was still pinging, no timeouts.

What now?

Well... That tells me it's browser specific. And not a networking issue.
This hanging of the browser only happens in Firefox now? And not to Chrome?
What version of FF are you using?

This might be solvable by some setting changes in Firefox.

Oh look, btw, I restarted FF, and my reply with text was still open, and the attachment I tried to attach went through...

FF Version: 14.0.1

This hang up currently happens only in FF. However, Chrome does hang at startup until I hit the home button, this happens at work and at my home.

FF is the major issue at work right now, so I'm up for any suggestions.

Thanks!

Just to check. Do you have a lot of plugins/addons for Firefox?

Yes I have a lot of extensions that I use. As for the plugins... I try to enable only a few, but there are a couple that are disabled, but I don't know how to remove them...
