rockmilk,

Thank you for your time and patience! Things have been extremely hectic for me as of late. I haven't forgotten about this though! It's just been on the back-burner!!! So I tried following your new step, but when I get to this step 'Open an Elevated command prompt amd type or copy and paste the following.
regsvr32 ActionCenter.dll' I get this message: 'RegSvr32..The module "ActionCenter.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that the "ActionCenter.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again. And then when I get that message, there's an "ok" button. So I clicked on the "Ok" button and nothing happened. Should I just go on to the next step? Please help, I'm not sure what to do..please help!!!

Thank you once again,
mlansky

rockmilk,

What exactly is an 'Elevated command prompt'? When I did that step, I just clicked on 'Start' in Windows 7 and then did a search for 'Command Prompt' and copy & pasted 'regsvr32 ActionCenter.dll' into the Command Prompt. Is that the correct way to do this step?

To open an Elevated Command Prompt in vista/7 hit the windows key and R at the same time and type CMD into the run box and hit enter.

rockmilk,

Ok I got the 'Elevated Command Prompt' step done! When I checked my laptop this morning, I noticed that the white flag staff Action Center Icon was there on the right bottom corner of my screen and it's not greyed out in my 'System Icons' either..woohoo!! Now should I continue on with the final step of (Download Shell shexview http://www.nirsoft.n...s/shexview.html Run the program as admin make sure all the items are enabled) even though the Action Center Icon is already there?

Thanks again for all of your help and patience :)

rockmilk,

Just curious to know this, was that last step even an important step or how important was that last step?

Also, I noticed in my Action Center under 'Security', my Network Access Protection is turned off and it says 'Network Access Protection Agent service' is not running. My questions are, what exactly is 'Network Access Protection', should it be turned on rather than off and why isn't the 'Network Access Protection Agent service' running?

Thank you,

mlansky
