Run the Hard drive Diagnostic specific to your manufacturer. Also like I mentioned in the article run at least 7 to 8 passes to be sure.

Didn't see one for Toshiba. I gave up and on the hunt for a new HDD

bought new SSD and re-installed Win7. So far so good!
