Should I continue to use My WIFI Router or not?

Hi genius, I use this software " My WIFI Router " as my virtual router. It can turn my laptop to be a wifi hotspot based on the Wireless Lan of the laptop. It runs smoothly and great. But I must keep my laptop running all day. I want to know should I continue to use My WIFI Router or not? Could you give me some suggestion? Thank you in advance!

Who's connecting to your hotspot? If it's just you, it could be turned off when you're not using it.

Can it be set up so that a password has to be entered when you use it?

That way no one else can log on if that is what you are concerned about.
