Get the Installer Cleanup Utility  http://www.majorgeek...up_utility.html

You don't need to fill out the form.  Just wait for the download to start after you click on Download@MajorGeeks

Then run the program.  You usually get a list of programs.  If you see the Google update program or the .net framework click on them and use the tool to remove them.

OK.  Run GrantPerms for

C:\Program Files\MSECACHE\WICU3\msicuu.msi

Does it find the file?

Does the folder exist?

In a command window type:

dir  "\Program Files\MSECACHE\WICU3"

Then hit Enter.

Also see if you can download and run this program:

http://www.microsoft...?id=25#filelist

I'm going to have to go off line for a few hours.

See if this one will work:

http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=8483

I'll see if the missing folder is on my XP.

Supposedly this is a permissions problem with either the installer folder or the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer

Do you still get the 1305 error with the C:\Program Files\MSECACHE ?

Try running Windows Repair All - In - One again:

Download Complete Internet Repair to your desktop

Unzip all the files to their own folder on the desktop
Within the folder double click CIntRep
The programme will then run
Select the items I have highlighted
Press go
Let me know if it is able to conduct the repair, there is a log at the bottom
