Apologies if this question has been asked before, or is being asked in the wrong forum. Haven't cracked the site-only search function yet.
I have just purchased a Bose Sounddock III for my partner. Unfortunately it has a Lightning socket while her iPod Classic has an old-style 30-wire socket. Advice from my local Apple shop is that there is a 30-wire to Lightning adapter (which would permit, say, an old-style charger to charge a Lightning phone) but not one the other way, which would permit my partner to play her iPod music through the Sounddock.
Is there a solution to this problem (preferably a tidy one that won't leave the area in front of the Sounddock a mass of cables) or does the Sounddock have to go back to the retailer?
Thanks in advance for your help.
