I would like to see two other logs...

» Farbar Service Scanner (FSS) log
Let's check some windows critical services...
Download Farbar Service Scanner and save the file to the Desktop.

  • Run FSS
  • Check all the options
  • click Scan

Post the generated log in your reply.

» Minitoolbox log
Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.
Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options:

  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices (Only Problems)
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size
  • List Restore Points

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply.

Ok lets see if we start fixing some things...

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Accessories.
  2. Right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
  3. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
  4. In the command prompt window, type net stop cryptsvc to stop Cryptographic Services, and then press ENTER.
  5. Type: esentutl /p %systemroot%\System32\catroot2\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\catdb, and then press ENTER.
  6. Click OK to confirm that you should run this tool only on databases that are corrupt.
  7. If Esentutl reports that the catalog database is still corrupt, you should use one of the following procedures to create a new catroot2 folder.
  8. Type net start cryptsvc to start Cryptographic Services, and then press ENTER.

Note: On step 5 you can Copy the all command in bold and Paste on the Command Prompt window to avoid typing errors.

Please post a screenshot of the Command Prompt showing the result.

On the same Command Prompt type:

ren %systemroot%\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start cryptsvc

Wait 5 minutes and then:

net stop cryptsvc
esentutl /g %systemroot%\System32\catroot2\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}\catdb

if the database is now ok it should say Integrity check successful. Restart the computer and run Minitoolbox log only with the option List last 10 Event Viewer log, post the new log.

I did some testing and found out that I was using a Microsoft article with wrong information!

Download the file fix.cmd and save the file to the Desktop
Right click on the file fix.cmd and select Run as Administrator, you will see the message Press Any key to continue... and Notepad will open after showing a log, please post that.

Ok, this time Windows is trying to recreate the DB, please wait about 1 hour and then check the folder C:\Windows\system32\catroot2 again tell me if you have files names beginning with edb and two folders {127D0A1D-4EF2-11D1-8608-00C04FC295EE} and {F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}
