Has anyone found a fix for the api-ms-win-crt-runtime error that has plagued Windows 7 with Service Pack 1?

What exactly is your error?  When does it occur?

Looks like there is one in System32 and then each program brings their own just to be sure.  Your search just shows Office related files that are probably not in the Path so won't be found by anything but Office.  You might try

the download for:  All supported x64-based versions of Windows 7

That's the solution I found as well.

Before beginning, inspect your update history unhide any hidden ones, note any failed ones.   Run windows update, install any available, then run it again.

 

Note, To install this update, you must have April 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 (2919355) installed in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. Or, install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Or, install Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista and for Windows Server 2008.
