Don't think so.   If it bricks your PC, there's no way to undo it that I know of.  Some mobo's have that option but judging by the dire warning on the BIOS download that's not an option on yours.

Did the network update have any effect on the lat mon or process explorer?

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs):   534,90
Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs):   12,149539

 REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

I think the network driver update helped at least as far as lat mon is concerned.  Process Explorer still looks ugly.  Interrupts is still an order of magnitude too high but apparently that's caused by the Realtek HD Aud driver.

We can do some standard speedup things.  Probably won't have any effect on Interrupts but at least it gets rid of the annoying ads and spyware in Windows:

Search for

task scheduler

hit Enter

Click on the arrow in front of Task Scheduler Library then

Click on the arrow in front of Microsoft

Click on the arrow in front of Windows

Click on Application Experience.  In the next pane to the right, right click on each Task and Disable.  Should be three tasks.

Click on Customer Experience Improvement Program.  In the next pane to the right, right click on each Task and Disable.  Should be two tasks.

Download OOSU10.exe:

https://www.oo-softw...com/en/shutup10

Download and Save it (You will get a popup while it's downloading.  You can X out of it)
then Right click and Run As Admin.
Allow it to make a System Restore Point.
Click on Actions then on Apply Recommended Settings.

Close the program and reboot.

(After each major update it's wise to rerun the program and Revert the changes.)

Just run a process Explorer log this time.

It's supper time here so I'm going to have to stop and eat then the wife will want to watch TV.  I know it's getting late where you are so get some sleep.  Hopefully I'll have time to search for a new HD Audio driver after the wife goes to bed.

See if you can get this one to work:

https://drivers.soft...19-Update.shtml

Unfortunately once you download it you can't just right click and Run As Admin.  Instead you have to open an Elevated (Admin) Command Prompt then type:

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:"<PUT-CAB-FILE-PATH-HERE>"

If you save the file to your desktop like you did FRST then it would be:

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:"C:\Users\UserX\Desktop\08154211-7d73-4693-b40d-cebd77950b97_0265b1ebf01fb90d299431b2b0347f44bd72a446.cab"

You should be able to copy the line then right click in an elevated command prompt and then Paste or edit then Paste or maybe do nothing if the line appears on its own then hit Enter.

If you get it to work then probably best to reboot and wait 5 minutes for things to settle before running process explorer.

If the DISM command fails you can try extracting the CAB:

https://www.tenforum...ndows-10-a.html

Scroll down to Comment #2

use 7-zip instead of winrar or winzip (free versions have adware)

https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z1900-x64.exe

right click and run as admin

once installed you can right click on the cab and you will see 7-zip

Click on it then Extract Files.  It will want to put the files in the same folder but you can change it if you like.  OK

Note the path to the extracted file

Then update the driver as shown in the above link

I started 7-zip (righ click start as administrator) , then selected the cab file saven on my desktop.

7-zip unzipped the cab file with a warning: there are some data after the end of the payload data (translated from Dutch).

I then opened device manager using windows button and R  , as this woul open devicemanager in administration mode... .

followed the steps and selected the unzipped folder on desktop when updating the audio driver high definition .. . but then I receive a message that the newest driver is already installed.

Maybe pick one inf file and force it to update?

About O&O shutup10

(After each major update it's wise to rerun the program and Revert the changes.)

If I understand correctly: I should not update windows update , and each time an update is been downloaded, I should undo the recommended settings applied before windows update installs.

I should then  disable automatically instal of windows update?

O&O shutup10:

Let it update all it wants but after each major update if you run O&O shutup10 you will see that a few things have been changed back to their default settings.  It will tell you they have been changed and offer to revert changes.  Looks like this after an update:

oo.jpg

For the HD Audio

I assume the file HDXACERNB.inf is for ACER Note Books.  You could try right clicking on it and select Install and see if anything happens.

the inf files talk about RTKVHD64.sys but I don't see the file in the download.  Put

RTKVHD64.sys

in the FRST search box and hit Search Files.  You will get one log please post.

While you have FRST up, put

mshta.exe

in the FRST search box and hit Search Registry.  You will get one file.  Please post.  I want to see if I can figure out why the file is running.
