Also, any thoughts on the Sophos anti-virus and do you have any recommendations for anti-virus program?

 

I assume I can go ahead and install newest JAVA on computer.

Hi, Denis.

 

I always say that the security solution is definitely a user's choice. If you are asking about my personal preference, I would say that I prefer the built-in Windows security platform, Windows Security, which includes Windows Defender. It's a light and reliable solution. Personally, I use it along with the Premium version of Malwarebytes, and I am very happy with them both. 

 

Thanks for reminding me about Java. Yes, if it is necessary to you, you can download the latest version from here: Download Java for Windows

 

Be careful not to download any optional things which come bundled with it.
