Hi

Id like to learn more & help if I can

I dont have any formal training but have been interested in computers since my 1st it was a Times 2k. It held 8 lines of program but at the time I thought it was all that.

I am the guy in our town now that everyone calls when their machines dont go & I find that it is usually spyware/malware & a lack of proper updating that is the culprit in 90% of the machines I fix.

I am a software nerd. Been working with PC's for many years (15+) ...C., C++, assembler, Ruby, ... I'd like to get more info on what kind of time committment you'd like, from me... I'm "mad as he-- and I'm not gonna take it anymore".

I have been helping maintain the family WLAN and personal computers for a few years now and have picked up a bit here and there on computers and tools for making them a happier place to do what we want and need to do.

Would love to better equip myself for the task and would do my best to help others as I have been and am being helped here now.

I would love to join in the help against malware. That garbage has become a HUGE problem for a lot of people that have no clue. I must admit, Aurora got me, and I had to consult the services of the forum to get it removed, and I am an IT pro by trade.

A little background.........I started in '96 as a tech support rep for a company called CCI-Triad (now Activant). Since then I have gone on to manage Help Desks in a couple of small software companies, and then moved into Network Admin.

I won't claim to me a malware expert by any means, but I think I can contribute, and would love to take the opportunity to "give back".

I look forward to hearing from you.
