i'd really like to see if you can run memtest now...and also if you can initiate a chckdsk /r to see if there is anything funky going on there

I'll run the chkdsk and see what pops up then see if memtest will run

*sigh* now I can't get into RC again.. even with 2000..
It's still a little slow but it's not terribly bad.. as long as the connection works I'll be happy

chkdsk cannot be run because the volume is in use by another application. Would you like to schedule this volume to be check the next time the system restarts?

yeah it does
I also tried going into the ASR but it wants a floppy for that. This computer that started acting up I cannot afford to lose that data if at all possible. If I find who was messing with that machine... *******
chkdsk is running now.. nothing has shown up yet but I'll let you know if it does for sure.
Thanks for all your help and patience!!

invalid parameter was passed to a service or function lsass.exe
so then I found this article http://support.micro...om/?kbid=307545 and I proceeded to get most of that done.. except.. I can't find a snapshot folder anywhere. That's where I'm stuck. So I figured I could run repair and go from there.. but alas, I can't do a repair for some reason.

can you get into windows at all on that machine?
(while chckdsk is running on the other machine...go to a hardware store and buy a big hammer just in case we have to go crazy on all of your computers hehhee)
