I was wondering if the price I paid for it was worth it.

It is always difficult to answer such questions when you may be the bearer of bad news 

 

Rightly or wrongly assuming that the the computer specs other than what is listed in your OP (possibly add $40 for the Networking card/s to the $1,229.99 )I used the Customise option at the HP website to see what they would have charged you, see attachment below;
