Is there a way to expunge the old drivers from my system cleanly?

The drivers for the old motherboard because every time I turn on my computer it gives me an error message saying this:

EPU-4 Engine

EAccessViolation

You need to find and delete the following two drivers which are ASUS hardware monitoring software related, the info here may help with finding them.

They kept reinstalling themselves after a restart, so I disabled them first and then uninstalled them. They are gone now, but I keep getting the same error message. And now I get a message (not an error message, just a message) saying "Can't open AsIO.sys !! (2)". The Icon on the taskbar for that message is displaying three blocks, two on the bottom, one on top. The bottom two say F and C and the top one says M. Whatever that icon is for....

Post an Autoruns log for us, see here  

 

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.

2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".

3: Click on the "Hide Signed Microsoft and Windows Entries” option.

4: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.

5: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop > when you click on File > Save you will then get the option to Save as type, click the drop down tab, change it to Text and then click the Save button.

Create a new system restore point, find and disable only the following four entries in Autoruns, restart the computer then post back with an update for us.
