just a quick question. I'm thinking of getting a 2 slot video card (more powerful), but i have something in the way and i don't know what it is. Can someone tell me what i'm looking at here, and if i can take it out to make room. I'm not too tech savvy.

It's really not worth it on that PC, to be honest. The Asus Leonite-GL8E (what you've got as a mobo) only has 1 PCI-e slot. Unless you can find a GPU that runs on 2 PCI slots, I don't think that's possible.

no i only need 1 pci-e slot, i mean that it takes up 2 back slots (where i hook up the monitor), and that is why i want to know if i can get rid of whatever it is i have up there.

well if nothing's normally plugged into it, I would think you don't really need it.

yes you can remove it...leave it out of the system or you can move it down to another PCI slot

That's it. I don't know what to do anymore. I tested out my vid-card at NCIX and apparently it works... I'm at my whits end here. What could the problem be? I'm gonna try bringing in my whole system to test it out there (for a price) but is there anything you guys would suggest i try before that?

I'd replace it anyway, the Geforce 7300 LE isn't exactly a powerful card.

The video card may work under normal use but when you tested it did you run a graphics intense game to see what would happen?

When you say it worked do you mean the issue we started with did not happen when tested?

when the technician booted up their system with my video card, the monitor showed stuff. Like i mentioned earlier, my monitor doesn't even show anything. i can't even get to playing any games. I'm writing this on another computer altogether

(btw my video card is 7800 not 7300)

Then I wonder if you have a bad slot then on your motherboard.
That would answer why it won't work.

It's a possibility, and mobo's aren't extremely expensive any more.

Heh, it's like we're completely revamping his computer.

Maybe I'll do that with mine...
