It is obsolete since it had been on your computer for so long. That is why it has some restrictions. But go ahead and finish it in safe mode and post the results then do the manual scan and attach it as instructedAt first when I open the program, it tells me the database is obsolete and directs me to a webpage to download but they only have products that I can buy and download.

Hello,
It's at 49% and finish time is 6 hours. A message has popped up saying:
"kaspersky virus removal tool has detected malicious software.
A special disinfection procedure is required which demands system reboot. You are advised to close all other applications.
Perform disinfection?
Virus:
Virus.win32.ZAccess.m
Yes, perform (recommended)
Special disinfection procedure will be performed and on completion system will be restarted
No, do not perform
Object will be processed according to the selected action"
What should I do? Please advise.
Thank you

Oh ok. When it restarts, should I boot into safe mode with networking and re-run the program with automatic scan since it didn't finish?

Boot it back into safe mode with networking and let it finish and produce a log.

I clicked on yes. A window popped up asking to install their proven security solution to permanently protect my pc and the valuable data stored on it against all types of Internet threats. Then it gives me two options: get protected or no thanks. Is it necessary to get that?

Ok so I clicked disinfect. The same window popped up again but this time the disinfect option is grayed out saying disinfection is not possible. Reason: disinfection failed. I can only click on delete or skip.

Ok after I clicked skip, the same window popped up listing the same virus and this time the disinfection option is available just like the first time.
P.s. The scanning has stopped in the background. Should I send you a screenshot? I am not sure if that will help.
