"Also Do you get access denied each time you try and access the folder?"
Yes. I think so.
Download GrantPerms 64bit version.
http://www.bleepingc...oad/grantperms/
Unzip it to your desktop.
Open the folder that contains the .exe
Right Click it and Run As Administrator.
Copy and paste C:\Users\Jonathan\Documents into the Grant Perms Window.
Now hit the Unlock button.
Reboot your computer.
See if you can now access that folder.
OK please forgive me; my yucky eyesight prevented me from seeing everything on the screen. I couldn't find stuff I thought I had posted! But that stuff was on different pages!
My brain just doesn't work right.
I'm a little unclear as to where I am now. I'll start with UNCHECKY. Then I'll check out the next and last page.
When you catch up, let me know where you stand.
In CCleaner, you told me to disable everything except the antivirus... but in the picture, it looks like you only want me to disable QHSafe Tray.
I just got a weird message saying I've just been infected with a virus and to call a certain number. I never respond to that kind of thing but I did a scan and the 360 Total Security found nothing. I just wanna make sure things are still OK.
QHSafeTray:
I tried to disable it at startup in CCleaner but I got an ACCESS DENIED...
There's no ADVANCED setting in my CCleaner. Just MONITORING.
I do not want you to diable 360, I want you to disable everything except that. Has the popup happened again? If so then you will need to start a new thread in the malware section.
OK, I can't even tell you what I've covered. I hit the wall! BleachBit downloading was too confusing. Page after page with the word DOWNLOAD on it.
And I think things may've gone too far. Because I don't really know what I'm doing at this point. Even my browser, Fire Fox, no longer opens with the familiar GOOGLE doodle and options like IMAGES etc. . Just a black rectangle! Can you tell me how to get my browser to open normally again?
Now the options like IMAGES are back but the GOOGLE DOODLE is gone. Whaaaah!
"I do not want you to diable 360, I want you to disable everything except that. Has the popup happened again? If so then you will need to start a new thread in the malware section."
I don't even know what you're saying here! Like I said before... too much data, and it all explodes and falls to pieces in my brain. I did not disable the program with the number 360... wasn't that the virus program? And what pop-up are you referring to?
I'm also a little sad to see that the list of downloads in FireFox is gone. I don't really need to save space. I have TONS of storage. But if it means the computer will run faster, than I'm not so sad.
Ok, at this point are you happy with the way your computer is running? If so we should stop were we are, no sense in complicating things.
I rebooted and the GOOGLE DOODLE is back.
But I'd like to keep the list of things I downloaded and delete what I want, when I want. But in this confused state, I don't know how to make that happen.
I am not sure what to tell you. Just take a day and come back to this, sometimes for everyone clearing your head is the best way to avoid frustration.
