but by the sound of it you can't access it ?
put any cd in the draw then at the prompt c:>D: enter
does the prompt change to D:>

lets look for Nortons
At the c:>cd progra~1 enter
c:\progra~1>cd norton~1enter
c:\progra~1\norton~1> dir/p enter
what is listed if it is a long list just look for any files ending in .vxd

what aabout taking out the norton that is in calling the other norton-cuz i think either something has to be added or taken-if the thing is taken and not calling the device then windows will not be looking for the device-but i don't know how it all works soo...

has nortons and symantec both gone?
if yes ctrl alt del
I know it is a pain but list the error messages please
