Hello Everyone and good day J

I have  a lenovo laptop  model  SL-510 TYPE 2847-BWG

And I want to  Upgrade his Memory

So  I have  been read   Detailed specifications  in  the  site of lenovo about  my  laptop model

( i attached  the link  in the end of the post )

and see that my  laptop model support  up to 8GB maximum memory with    Dual-channel capable

Then I noticed under the specifications  this details :

Memory

  • PC3-8500 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
  • PC3-10600 Non-Parity (NP) Double Data Rate Three (DDR3) Technology
  • Dual-channel capable
  • Two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
  • 1 GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB,
  • Supports up to 8GB maximum memory

So of course I would rather upgrade to 8gb ram with  2x4GB

Because I just have two slots  …

But I'm a little confused  … What's better?  The  PC3-8500 or the PC3-10600 ?

And should I take  two sticks of the same model ? same company ?

for  they be work on dual Together  ?

Of course, I'd love you to recommend me suitable types of memories models

And Recommended Companies

I appreciate your help and want to Thanks in advance everyone  J

Go to http://www.crucial.com/and run their "Crucial System Scanner".

That is the way to go.

Between the PC3-8500 and PC3-10600 it is a difference in clock speeds, but a normal user won't see a difference. For someone overclocking the higher number would be better.

None of the above.

These are guaranteed compatible for your Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 Series by Crucial.com: http://www.crucial.c...ad-sl510-series

Not all "pc3-10600  memory" is exactly the same. That's why we were referring you to Crucial.com. If their recommended solutions do not work, they refund your money.
