Sounds like that is the root cause

Continue to use the new profile then when you are happy remove the old one https://support.mozi...irefox-profiles

Yes you can export them from the old profile to the desktop and then import into the new profile https://support.mozi...kup-or-transfer

Try this :)

1.Click the Bookmarks button and select Show All Bookmarks to open the Library window.
2.From the toolbar on the Library window, click Import and Backup and choose Import Bookmarks from HTML....
3.In the Import Bookmarks File window that opens, navigate to the bookmarks HTML file you are importing and select the file.
4.Click the Open button. The Import Bookmarks File window will close.
5.Close the Library window.

Well tried that as well. Didn't work, I got most of my bookmarks, I went to Bookmarks: Show All Bookmarks: Import and Backup: Choose File and found an old bookmark file from around 8 months ago. But that did not put any of my passwords back into the new profile... Can the passwords be switched over?

The only other problem i see is now i have a (2) on all my taskbar icons.

Could you screenshot the taskbar icons so that I can see what you mean

I do not use Firefox so I will have to check out the passwords

Unpin them from the taskbar, reboot and then add them again should work

That generally indicates that there are two files with the same name in the folder ... SO have a look in program files\internet explorer and see how many iexplore files there are

Go to C:\Users\[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu

This is a hidden folder so you will need to show it :

1.Right-click the Windows Logo button and choose Open Windows Explorer.
2.Click Organize and choose Folder and Search Options.
3.Click the View tab, select Show hidden files and folders and then clear the checkbox for Hide protected system operating files.

Now remove all the pinned icons from the taskbar
Then in the folder that is now visible delete all files
Reboot
Re-pin required items to the task bar
