I was using my Hp elitebook 6930p laptop and suddenly it stopped charging then I realised the charger has gone bad, I got a new charger with the same 18.5v but it wasn't turning on. I tested power jack which is good but there's no led light on the laptop that would show that it was charging when I plug in the adapter. I also tried the removing battery holding power button for 30 seconds method already. Can my laptop be fixed, is it the motherboard?

I guess the charger has some problems. Try to get it replaced. Try to get the original charger of elitebook. In some chargers the ampere may vary. My problem was different. It only charges when the laptop is off. I checked it with a technician, and there was something wrong with the motherboard.

:welcome:   Needhelpppe,

Patrick is correct in that any replacement charger must be the same voltage, the amps must be the exact same or higher and the charging jack must be the same polarity, diameter and length, basically you need a like for like charger.

Did the computer also shutdown at the same time or did/has it worked on battery only power since.
