My nickname is in Elvish from the Lord of the Rings series.

"luin" means blue
"khelek" means ice

So, "luinkhelek" is blue ice.

i'm mike, back in the day used to lock a mic if people were rude and obnoctious in the old Karaoke rooms on yahoo. so eventually people started to call me stolen.. long story short, ended up taking the name st0ll3n_m1k3 and dropped the name to current. When I got out of the yahoo scene I went to the more pleasent sounds of stollen which is a sweet bread(some good stuff too!!!)

So now the name represents the bad guy, that bullied the bullies, gone good. :)

...I used to work in an electronics contract manufacturing house. For those who have worked with electronics, you probably know that circuit boards are frequently marked with 'reference designators' which are used to identify components, like 'R12' for a resistor, 'C33' for a capacitor, or 'U6' for an IC. Some of the boards I worked with had a section where all the parts had a Z added to their designators. I also spent some time in the US Air Force and was stationed in England and Germany; in both countries Z is called 'Zed' (but pronounced differently in German). And I was born in 1954. So, I took the designator 'ZU54' on these boards and, using the preceding convoluted logic, modified it into a user name... :)

So how did you get your nickname/handle/name? I'm admin, um because I'm the site admin. :)

I'm sure many of you have more interesting stories behind your choice of nicks, let's hear them! :)

Just a melding of mine and my kids surnames, started out at a truncation of an over-long first ever email address...

My nickname was the first thing that popped into my head, in the spur of the moment. I used the nickname of my state/alma mater, and one of my favorite numbers.

I was given this nick while in the military and it has stuck with me all this time! The reason for this nick to be given to me was for the fact that I took care of business with out a big to-do or without any outside assistance. The people I was working with appreciated that!

Well, while I am waiting, I use this one on the fishing web pages that I want anonymity on. At the time I had gotten into musky fishing and my last name starts with Ben, thus Musky Ben was born. Sorry that is a small mouth bass in the avatar.

The name I am using in this forum is the one my school gave me as my email address, using my first and last name (very lame). The name I used to use was my old email address fleffi227, before my school made me get a grown up sounding email address to use with teachers and job contacts. My name is Stephanie and when I was little my brother called me Stephi Fleffi. Also, 2-27 is my birthday.
