F drive for some. Is it because the computer has not had a chance to sync that the drives cannot be found???

I have copied the entire folder but still wary of not getting them back. In the worst case scenario. If it all goes pear shaped. Can I still recover these files....I reckon my marriage depends on it...
I have stored them on my USB and will transfer them ont a portable hard drive, that is the liks from
c:\documents and settings\louise.norbury\recent

My wife has just informed me when she goes to work she can access her files from any computer...Does this suggest that it saves it all on the server and transfers it across to her computer

If you have any worries at all then copy the entire users folders (documents and settings) C:\Documents and Settings\Louise.Norbury plus any other named user accounts

Yep that is what the shortcuts are, to other drives (server)

When you redo the system use the same names as previously i.e. Louise.Norbury that will ease the replacement of the folders and files

When the reformat is done it will wipe the drive clean. But if everything is on the server it should not matter a great deal, although you will need to re-install any programmes that did not originally come with the laptop
