Best Answer SleepyDude , 26 April 2015 - 03:24 PM

OK, now they are both installed!   It is odd that when I did the Dell system analysis, it didn't tell me to update those drivers. I never trust those automated tools  I guess now we hope... Go to the full post »

OK, thank you.

By the way, in case this provides any clue, when I tried to load my "HP Solutions" software which runs the printer/scanner, I got the same msvcp80.dll error, and the program did not load properly.

Ok, Thanks for the information.

The Microsoft tool can be automated, let's see if it works for you.

- Please download ProcessMonitorScript and extract the file to c:\windows\temp\

- a new folder ProcessMonitor is created, open the folder

- double click the file Trace.cmd to execute the script

- the system will ask confirmation to run Process Monitor by Sysinternals for 3 times, accept all the security warnings

- the script will start PowerDVD, please click OK on the error message and then wait for the script to finish

- locate the file trace.pml inside the folder and ZIP it

- please share the tracefile using Dropbox or using your website

Hi,

Hi SD,,

I was denied access to the Windows\Temp folder!

Usually on first access windows asks confirmation to access and answering Yes will add the needed privileges...

Extract to the Desktop it should work from there also

Morning SD,

I tried to download process monitor script, but the dropbox link is dead now.

Sorry about that, I thought you already had the file and decided to do some cleanup on my Dropbox folders

New link here

Hi,

The program is looking for a very specific version of the file...

Please install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) and then the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update

After this get me another look with Systemlook so I can check the versions of the files installed.

I am sorry, this probably sounds stupid, but the first link you provided does not seem to have a link to the download.  Am I missing something?  I dont want to download the wrong one.

thanks

Thanks

On the second download, it gives me three options to download.  vcredist_x86.EXE, vcredist_IA64.EXE, vcredist_x64.EXE

Do I want all 3?

Any error during install of the files above? The log doesn't show any change and it should!
