uninstalled java, and updated firefox, note: after i did the frst scan my pc restarted and when windows came back on i clicked firfox and it crashed, i had to refresh a new version and it disabled any add ons i had. so all is ready for next step. note2: ive never had any issues with firfox, that was ironic that it crashed right before i was about to update it, #conspiracy ha, also are add ons a good practice? or no..

I'll give you the answer for that question later :)

Now, the last thing we have to take care of is that Internet Explorer problem. Please answer all the questions.

I've noticed that you've downloaded this file on 2015-02-19:
C:\Users\Bridget\Downloads\IE11-Windows6.1.exe
This is an installer for Internet Explorer. Could you please tell me why you have downloaded this?

Have you ever uninstalled Internet Explorer?

What was the last time you've seen Internet Explorer working?

Also, please perform the following scan.

Systemlook

Download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.

Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2
  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:
    :filefind
    *iexplore*
    *internet explorer*

    :folderfind
    *iexplore*
    *internet explorer*
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.

Things that should appear in your next post:
  • SystemLook log content
  • Answers to my 3 questions

Hello again, Jeremy7777.

Perform the following instructions and tell me if this solves your problem with Internet Explorer.

Roll-back IE:

The below process will remove IE 11 and IE 10 will be restored.
  • Click on Start (Windows 7 Orb) >> Control Panel >> Uninstall a program or Programs and Features.
  • Then on the left hand side click on View Installed Updates >> scroll down until you locate Windows Internet Explorer 11 listed as an update.
  • Click once on Windows Internet Explorer 11 to highlight >> Uninstall >> follow the prompts.
Note: The above may take some time, so ensure you do not interrupt the roll-back/uninstallation process until it is complete. Reboot the machine afterwards if not advised to.

Once you're done, download the latest IE version and install it.

Things that should appear in your next post:
  • Please tell me if you're now able to launch and use Internet Explorer

But you have uninstalled Internet Explorer 11, right?

In that case, you should now be able to launch Internet Explorer 10. Please tell me if you're able to do it.
  • Press WindowsKey.png+R combination on your keyboard
  • In the window that appears, type iexplore
  • Click OK.

I'll give you some tips about how to stay safe in the future.
I'm afraid that there's no "description for dummies" in what we're doing here. I've been learning all this for one year and it's only the beginning. A lot of effort has to be put in order to learn malware removal. For you it might look like a simple scans but we have to be really careful not to screw up someone's system.
I fully understand you though as it's been annoying me as well (that I can't fix my own system), but it is really time consuming and shouldn't be attempted "just because".

Could you tell me what's the current version of your Internet Explorer?

Launch Internet Explorer, click the 5Y2IijN.png button at the upper-right corner of the browser and click About Internet Explorer.

Also, could you tell me what error you get when trying to install Internet Explorer 11? Either rewrite the full content or do a screenshot:
When the error is visible, press Alt+Print Screen combination on your keyboard. Once done, open Paint, press Ctrl+V combination and Ctrl+S to save the file. Please, use .PNG format. Add that file as an attachment to your post.
